Let's see "Blue Jasmine" on Sunday, August 25th

Woody Allen's latest effort stars Cate Blanchett as a New York socialite who suffers a precipitous fall from a privileged life to land in the apartment of her bohemian sister.  The New Yorker film critic David Denby calls it the "strongest, most resonant movie Woody Allen has made in years" ( Please also join us afterwards, for our famed spirited discussions at a nearby Tinseltown eatery.  A dollar or two donation would be appreciated to defray the costs of this website.  Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that some of our distinguished members of the club have lobbied vociferously for The World's End, or is it the End of the World?  I am pleased to announce it opens this weekend at the Sun-Ray.

Had a great time Sunday. The movie was in intriguing, and the company delightful.
Now i'm looking forward to The World End this week.

My faith in Woody Allen is restored. Cate Blanchett has been my favorite actor since the 1990s. Wouldn't be surprised if she wins the Oscar for this role.

The film was definitely a dark comedy but this did not stop the group from having a lively discussion at Seven Bridges after the movie. The movie had many layers to it and probably deserves multiple viewings for full enjoyment. I would not be surprised to see it among the award contenders this year.

Really glad I went. As always, the dinner and discussion afterwards were the best part!

I'll pass on anything Woody Allen or fugitive Roman Polanski does.
