We'll be watching "Let me in" on Friday, after a meal at Strada starting at 7pm.
Due Date won the vote, but it's showing at 8pm which is not enough time to get in a meal beforehand (one drawback of meeting on a Friday). And Vue have decided to drop Another Year entirely from their scheduling, despite advertising it on their site as 'coming soon'.
So we'll meet outside cinema at 7pm. Please paypal me for tickets, see meetup for details.
And here's a reminder of the description of 'Let me in', in case you're thinking that it's 'just another vampire movie':
"Let Me In is a deep, dark drama about childhood and loneliness. Based on the superb Swedish movie Let The Right One In, this American version (written by the same person) centres on a young boy, Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is friendless and relentlessly bullied at school. His isolation is broken when he is befriended by Abby (Chloe Moretz), who lives next door. But while he?s grateful to have a friend ? a very intense one ? he?s not quite prepared for what Abby is: a vampire. A strange, compelling tale where the vampire angle is a footnote ? a fascinating one ? to the main action."
We organise trips to the Vue cinema in the Oracle, Reading to see latest release films, usually with a meal beforehand and drinks after.
We are also a place for people to suggest and announce other social events like talks, theatre or comedy night trips.
If you have an idea for an event you'd like to have listed on this site, please let me know. You should have a date and venue in mind (not just a vague idea that you'd like someone to run something) and you have to be sure that you (or some other named person) will be there to co-ordinate others coming along.
