The majestic Los Angeles Theater will host Hola Mexico’s 2013 Opening Night Gala. The theater opened in 1931, and is still considered by many to be one of the most extravagant theaters in America.
The 2013 Hola Mexico Festival opens with CITIZEN BUELNA (CIUDADANO BUELNA) from the accomplished Mexican filmmaker Felipe Cazals. Prior to the film, Hola Mexico’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award in Cinema will be presented to Joaquin Cosio.
The Los Angeles Theater will also be hosting the Gala After Party, complete with great Mexican food, beer, tequilas, wine and mezcales. The evening’s music program includes live performances from Fernanda Ulibarri, Chicano Batman, and others.
Citizen Buelna, a charismatic character from the Mexican revolution remains youthful and courageous despite realizing the unfortunate fate of the revolution.
