Sunday Wise

Our Meetup Group received a limited amount of tickets to SUNDAY WISE, an exclusive event which takes place on Sunday February 2nd. All of the info is below. If you want to attend, you should book your tickets quickly!

Refreshed, recoiled and ready for another year of mind-blowing speakers, Sunday Wise is back. With recommendations from Quinessentially, Vanity Fair and Esquire, who can argue we’re hipper and hotter than ever?

On Sunday 2 February we kick-start our second year with the legendary portrait artist Jonathan Yeo. Previous clients include prime ministers, royals, and a host of celebs who've all requested his intimate portraits. Born in 1970, Jonathan is entirely self-taught, having taken up painting during a lengthy and painful recovery from Hodgkin's disease in his early 20s. His use of collage, unorthodox subject matter and often controversial depictions make him one of the most resonant artists of our time.

Joining Jonathan we welcome a fascinating lady, one who recently steered the Serpentine in their quest for the new Sackler Gallery, designed by Zaha Hadid. Remarkably, the Serpentine has now existed for longer with Julia Peyton-Jones OBE as Director, than it has without her and we look forward to hearing about her challenging journey.

Due to popular demand, the captivating pianist Jean-Phillippe Rio-Py will play for our guests over lunch and finishing the afternoon, our comedians include Sunna Jarman and Gemma Whelan(nominated as one of the best Solo Performers at the Edinburgh Festival last year).

"I loved doing Hamish's Sunday Wise event. It was really eclectic and smart and relaxed - like an old fashioned salon. It's the sort of thing London does so well."Jon Ronson, previous Sunday Wise speaker
