Hey Ray. No worries. We look forward to welcoming you.
As I said in my RSVP, anyone want to meet up before November 20th?

Hey Michael. Do you have a meeting place in mind?

Heck, if it's a small enough group (five or less), I wouldn't mind hosting. Otherwise, we could do a local restaurant, like European Street. I'm sure they would accomodate us.
If we can get a few folks together, I'm all for it. I typically avoid restaurants/openly public forums due to the adult subject matter in some of our works, but we can improvise if we opt to do an ad hoc meeting. In the meantime, I'm still working with the library regarding the other dates that I have requested for our group.

OK. The European Street in San Marco tends to have enough space for privacy earlier in the night on weekdays (I go a lot). But after seeing the tattoo one of the waitresses had on her arm when having dinner there last night, I don't think adult subject matter is an issue there :-). Happy hour goes until 7pm, so maybe we can talk at the next Meetup about adding another meeting at 6pm at European Street on a weekday other than Tuesday. It could combine dinner and drinks, which might make it easier for time management.

Wait, I think I misunderstood. I was open to meeting on another Tuesday, or possibly a weekend (morning), before November 20. As for the public meeting space, my chief concern is the comfort level of our members. Some of us are a tad bit uncomfortable reading the adult subject matter aloud in the private meeting room. A few of us might want the earth to open up and swallow our whole table if they were overheard - even if the only person overhearing it was the halo-wearing, tatted up food-serving goddess.
Yeah, that's what I was initially trying for also, but now that it's a week from November 20th, it seems unnecessary. I also had hoped a while ago to have a day other than Tuesday because of a personal conflict with Tuesday (I work most weekends so weekend mornings wouldn't work for me). And I completely understand about the discomfort. I know I was, and still am, extremely uncomfortable having my writing read out loud. You know, another idea is to get together somewhere outside, especially with the weather being so nice. Might be a nice change of scenery and we don't have to reserve the space. There's a park close to the San Marco library that's hardly ever used, right by the river. Maybe we could bring a blanket and use space there?
I will miss you guys.

We'll miss you, too. :(
Hi Nancy! We look forward to meeting you both. And sure, upon arrival is totally okay.
