Based on last night's book club, I can see the differing perspectives on Shadow of the Wind are set to become the key issue which decide the next Federal election. I think we should demand that Abbott and Shorten state their positions now rather than wait until the final week of the campaign.

I obviously missed out on something by not being in, or not hearing, Michael's conversation. All I can recall was the entirely reasonable and entirely justified comparison of Pink Floyd's music with great literature. Or perhaps I miss-heard...

The difficulty with great literature, like great music, is it often needs a commitment to get into and its often not clear early on whether the effort will be worth it. So while I love literature and films set in India I still struggle to finish Salmon Rushdie books something I am determined to do before I die or end up locked in a padded room somewhere. And as for Shadow of the Wind, this might be just my bias. I also equally like things set in Spain.
