Visit with AOPA President Craig Fuller at KBED

I plan on going to this and have heard from several others as well. So, thought I'd put this on as a meet up. Please read the details to reserve a spot for both yourself and a plane if flying in..... We should leave early enough to get there, tie dow and get a seat.

"...Please join me for a pilot town hall gathering on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from
8:30 am – 10:00 am at Signature Flight Support's Hangar 13 located on Hanscom Field.

With the national elections behind us, a new year ahead of us, and the economy just maybe starting to show some signs of growth, I am anxious to get out into the flying community and talk with those who are passionate about flying.

Throughout 2013, I'll visit major metropolitan areas and gather with fellow pilots and AOPA members to discuss the issues that most directly affect our freedom to fly. I will share my perspective on the current state of general aviation and AOPA's initiatives to grow the pilot population. I'll also bring you up to speed on AOPA's efforts in Washington, D.C., and key issues nationwide, on how we fight to protect airports, prevent tax hikes, and build the GA community.

When aviators connect, great things happen. Together, we can generate new ways of thinking and make general aviation stronger. I'll be in your area soon, and I invite you to join me, and even bring a friend who's interested in aviation.

The Event Is Free, But Please Rsvp To [masked] So We Know To Expect You. Be Sure To Include Ma In The Subject Line If You Plan To Attend. If You Are Flying In, Aircraft Parking Is Available At Signature Flight Support. They Can Be Reached At[masked], Or Email [masked]

i chose not to go given traffic and the unfriendly nature of bed. did anyone actually fly to it, how many were there.? i spoke with him personallly at sunnfun. guess there are no changes. need,
1)pilot certificate should allow access to all ga airports 24/7
    2) some towers should be closed. we need the money for improvements like weather ground stations
    3) all ga aircraft should be allowed to use unleaded reg at low power
    4) faa cert process for add ons should be simplified. thus allowing new technology access to market. ( e.g. why should i pay 28000 for an o235 l2c when the 0233 is faster better cheaper to run and only 21000 for my skipper.
    5) continue to make flying fun he has done it with his husky. we need to continue

Very good meeting; lots of information regarding current issues; lack of progress and cooperation in Washington (a bad thing?).

I'm really glad I attended this event. Craig Fuller was quite direct and open about the "dysfunctional" relationship among Congress, the President and FAA regarding decision-making for general aviation. There were some interesting questions from the audience and several positive responses regarding the future of aviation. I think he's a good fit for this position, is very knowledgeable concerning legislative advocacy for GA and I'm sorry to see him go.

last time i checked ( i wanted to go to a faa seminar at the fsdo one mile down the street the fees which they couldnt figure out exactly were over $100 not to mention the prop lock). this is the most ga unfriendly airport in the country... i find it ironic that flying into bos yesterday for a massport faa boston school event that all fees were waived ( 1000 kids, winds[masked]g35 gave me rw 4r wow.) . why not for this. i have notified aopa to move it if they expect flyins.
