Huckabee Trail, Sedona

This will be a hike that I use to get back in shape for my W. Fork backpack. Usually, I do not lead such easy and mostly flat hikes. If anyone wants to lead a more challenging hike the same day or weekend---please do so.
The hike is 2.45 miles each way. You may bail out at Midgely Bridge or return to the car for nearly 5 miles. Mostly easy with some spots of uphill that might be called moderate. We start from a parking lot off Schnebly Hill Road, descend, slowly at first, to a crossing of a tributaryof Oak Creek---then, rise to a flat and easy section---then down to and along Oak Creek to a lunch spot. Those doing the 5 mile option will head back via the same route. Those who want to may ascend up to Midgely Bridge and wait for the cars. That may be quite a wait---so, they may wish to cross the creek and see the old concrete aquaduct.
Mostly easy with about 40% moderate. Slow paced---go your own speed.
$6 gas. Driving is all pavement.
Participants may select to stop for refreshments on the way back.

If allergy season ends earlyier---I will lead an easy hike the weekend before.

Seven of us came to the Walmart Assembly area with nearly as many planning to go to the trailhead directly. Two were old FHC members who are not on Meetup---so, no trouble with trailhead directions. I offered to go along to take a car to the other end of the trail but everyone wanted to go round trip---the full 5 miles---so, I wished them well. I hope someone will post some more photographs---at the FHC Meetup---even if not here.

Thank you Michael----but, with weeks to go, between the two Meetup groups, I already have a dozen sign-ins---and, most of the FHC non-Meetups come w/o telling us to expect them. The last hike you were on---we had Nancy, Les and Annette Cherow, Chuck did not go after he saw dogs going. One or two others. Much as I would like such a joint hike---I don't want a mob. Perhaps some of them would like to join us into the Little Colorado R. gorge whenever that happens. RB

Robert, would you like to do this hike with the Sedona Hiking Group? Let me know and I'll post it.

Recently moved to Flagstaff, sounds like a good way to start hiking and meeting some new friends.
