Community and Ethics Celebration

The Community and Ethics Celebration is our new experiment! We are trying to find ways to build a morally intense, social community in which we support one another in improving ourselves and the world around us. There may be some kinks (not the dirty kind) as we try to work out how best to do this in a way that doesn't feel too churchy or contrived--so please come with openness and ideas!

The topic for this weeks celebration is:

- Service

- Active Compassion

- The benefits and risks of partnerships (Interfaith?)

I am looking forward to a lively and hopefully uplifting discussion! See you there!

***While children are absolutely welcome, this is not a child-centered event; there may be some mature topics and/or controversial language.

Please sumbit idea for topics you would like us to incorporate into this series of ethical attentivness.

Don't forget the after-party in the evening at Al's movie night!

I would love to find a way for these Sunday morning events to involve a separate children's activity. I can volunteer to put together service oriented kids activities if anyone else is interested and if we have a location with a separate kid's room.

I'll try to find the curriculum notes we used in Prescott for our Rational Sunday School. Also, Dale McGowan's "Parenting Beyond Belief" site and the Humanist Community Project site have places to fund (and share!) resources.

I just started messaging Kristine and Floye about having a planning session to get this thing started for real. Does anyone else want in? I would like to coordinate it with the celebration topics, if we can.
