Community and Ethics Celebration

The Community and Ethics Celebration is our new experiment! We are trying to find ways to build a morally intense, social community in which we support one another in improving ourselves and the world around us. There may be some kinks (not the dirty kind) as we try to work out how best to do this in a way that doesn't feel too churchy or contrived--so please come with openness and ideas!

The topic for this weeks celebration is: Getting past the fundamental attribution error: Can we promote empathy by discouraging belief in free will?

I am looking forward to a lively and hopefully uplifting discussion! See you there!

While this is an adult conversation it is also a family friendly event. We are creating a complimentary children's ethics and community event.

========

Please submit idea for topics you would like us to incorporate into this series of ethical attentiveness.

========

Don't forget the after-party in the evening at Al's movie night!

    Being an ardent fan of Sam Harris, I can't help wondering what his response might entail--surely something along the lines of modifying the current criminal justice system's default position.

    You're very welcome to bring your kids. But mine are out of town. Look forward to seeing you!

    What is planned for the kids? If I am going to get everyone out of bed I want to know what we are all in for. :P
