Community and Ethics Conversation

  • Oct 20, 2013 · 12:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The Sunday Community and Ethics Conversation is about serious conversation on topics that matter to Freethinkers. Each week we take a subject to task, learning from each other and sharing ideas. We usually begin with a brief period of sharing, building the bonds that make community by talking about the things that concern us and the things that have brought us joy. Freethinkers are encouraged to ask for and offer help and support with the worries and intentions that are expressed. The discussion is moderated with a light touch to keep the focus on the topic and make sure everyone gets a chance to participate.

We expect to have guest speakers from time to time to help spark informed, useful conversation.

This week's topic: Secular Community. What kind of community do we want? How secular?

While this is an adult conversation it is also a family friendly event. We are creating a complimentary children's ethics and community event.

Please submit idea for topics you would like us to incorporate into this series of ethical attentiveness.

Hey Disc, sorry, I'm going to bail on this one. I have some work that I need to do Sunday.

If someone would be kind enough to give me some specific directions from say, Milton and South Plaza Way I would appreciate it. I know I will give up looking for it after 25 minutes. I don't know where the Starbucks used to be and have never been inside of NAU.

I don't know that I can bring kids with me to this one in a way that won't be disruptive. So I'll catch the next one - unless we end up hitting the course, in which case me AND the kids are so there!
