Pot-Luck Picnic at Highbanks Metro Park!

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful parks available to us within city limits , lets get together for a pot luck picnic and hike! As the date draws closer we should have a good idea of how many people to cook for, you can post the dish you are bringing below in the comment area if you like. Since we are flexitarians and our group is host to vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike please make a note on your dish as to which diet it adheres to, thanks!

To keep the cost down to the cost of the food for everyone I will NOT be renting out a shelter. There are plenty of shelters available at Highbanks for free on a first come basis. There are also grills available to use, but you should bring charcoal if you want to use them. I'm going to scope out some of the picnic areas this coming week and I'll be posting the location shortly there after.

Utensils/Plates:
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN preferably reusable (not disposable) plates and utensils!

Also, I will be making a Big 'Ol Batch of unsweetened Sun Tea if you would like some just bring a glass!

(Kids are welcome at this event, I will probably have my nieces!)

I hope to come with one guest but due to the reservation policy I am afraid to RSVP till I know for sure or till last minute.

Are the rules still the same for picnics as they are for restaurants that you can be removed form the group if you can't come for some reason but dont know till last minute as I am depending on someone else to drive but I hope to come but not formally committing yet for that reason.

Hi Jane! As long as you reply at some point before the event that you can/can't make it its okay. Out of consideration for all of our members I like our attendee list to be as accurate as possible. Thanks!

I will bring Southwest Blackbean Salad (vegetarian) it has blackbeans, roasted corn, red cabbabe, grape tomatoes, celantro (not too much) and lime juice. I will also bring a jug of some very interesting lime tea that compliments the salad. See you soon. Colleen
