Critics hated it, movie goer’s loved it. We’ll make up our own minds on Saturday night when we see “The Lone Ranger” with Johnny Depp as Tonto.  After the movie we'll go nearby for a snack and a chat. Hope you'll join us.---Lee

I didn't see that movie... I went to see The Heat cause I missed it last week. I did however go to Panera Bread and as always had a good time...

Last night was my first Flix outing. Lived the movie and it was nice to meet some other members. I would have gone to Panera if I knew it was a birthday celebration, too - happy birthday, Lee!

Johnny Depp made the movie. Fun flick. Didn't realize we were celebrating Lee's birthday last night ( mea culpa ), or would have gone to Panera. Happy Birthday Lee.

It was better than I expected. Loved the cinematography - beautiful shots of rugged landscape!
It reminded me of Red Rock Canyon in Nevada! Stunts were well-done , sometimes far fetched. Loved the ending with the William Tell Overture!

Yes, the scenery was beautiful. It also reminded me of Monument Valley in Arizona too. They can do so much with computer graphics it's hard to tell real scenery from computer created.

I was surprised the movie was so full. I guess there are a lot of closet Western fans still around. I still don't know if the "old museum Tonto" was Johnny Depp-- the makeup job was that good. The movie was a little longer than it needed to be to wrap up the plot. Horses riding on rooftops and traintops was fun and the violence was offset by the farce of it all. However, the old black and white half-hour TV oldie is still a fond memory.

I really did not expect to like this movie. It was very enjoyable and the humor was terrific. Johnny Depp played a great Tonto and the white horse (Silver) was beautiful. Lots of fun at Panera's.
    Happy Birthday Lee.

The nicest part of tonight was being with everyone especially on Lee's birthday. Too bad we didn't have a candle to put on his cake at Panera Bread. Unfortunately, the combination of the heat and the sun knocked me out all day so I did not stay awake for the whole movie and what I saw of it was half silly and half funny. I need those neck braces when I start falling asleep. Anyway, happy birthday to Lee and I hope he had a nice birthday. He does very good things for his groups as well. He is a good leader and a good person all around. It was good seeing everyone and it was nice meeting Lorena.

I have seen it, totally willing to see again! Hubby hasn't seen it but wants to - so it looks like we are going to be there!

Sorry I can't make this - I have a friend's 80th birthday party in Sayville. Too bad; I really wanted to Johnny Depp in yet another hilarious role.

I'm a big-time western fan and I can't wait to see what the 21st Century has done to the Lone Ranger.

I was going because i wanted to be with the grp, though i had no interest in the movie. I just read that it's 2 hrs 35 mins! I'll have to pass on this one.
