FCCP Clearwater Beach, Marina and Pier 60 dusk and sunset PhotoWalk

A new hotel has opened on Clearwater Beach and from it's 10th floor pub it offers a unique view of the marina and North Beach.  We've shot the last couple of sunset from here and it's a great view!  Bring a tripod and you'll have the opportunity to shoot some great Blue Hour images as well.

Please note the time change becuase of the end of Daylight Savings Time.  Time will go back to later start times in the spring.

Clearwater Beach is a great place to practice various creative types of photography.  The PhotoWalk usually heads over towards the marina and you'll have great opportunities to capture a small slice of local beach life.  Watch for the many possibilities of b

ird in flight shots, fisherman and sailors performing their duties and the many visitors and locals.  Several of the buildings offer great opportunities to practice HDR.  Also keep an eye open for the many pelicans, gulls egrets and herons.

After the sunset sets, the sand settles and the shutters cool down, we'll adjourn to one of the local restaurants or pubs to relax and share our successes.

The parking in the Clearwater Marina parking lot is free after 6 PM. The other lots charge and the garages are at least several dollars per hour.  Meters on the street are watched closely, so beware.

The weather was beautiful, the instruction educational, and the fellow photographers interesting and friendly.

There are storms in the area, but the beach remains sunny and mostly clear, so the PhotoWalk is on. If driving from Tampa or areas north please check your local weather before heading out and use caution.

There are not a lot of places to seek cover on the beach so bring a plastic bag or something to protect your gear.

I'll post a weather update around 5 PM. There is rain and lightning in the area, but too soon to tell if the rain will wash out our sunset.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
