FCCP Macro & Close-Up PhotoWalk at Largo Central Park Nature Preserve

No special lenses are required.  In fact, your Point-n-Shoot may even do a better job of close-ups than your bigger dSLR.  So just bring any camera and join the fun!  I'll gladly share how to make better macro photos on each PhotoWalk.  You're also welcome to just enjoy the outdoors with fellow photographers and shoot whatever you like.

Largo Central Park Nature Preserve is a 31-acre nature park virtually surrounded by water. The park is home to hundreds of wildlife species for viewing. Over 130 species of birds, otters, red fox, American alligator, marsh rabbits, wild turkey, and bats all feed or live within the park. A 5-mile kayak/canoe route begins at the park and ends at Park Boulevard. Catch and release fishing is allowed at the park. Over 40 interpretive displays educate visitors on the wildlife at the park.

Years ago when Jeff was first learning macro/micro photography, he and a small group of friends went out shooting every morning. The aim of the group was to learn macro photography and prefect the techniques for capturing the most challenging subjects nature had to offer. They called themselves the Weed & Seed Club and most of the original members are still photographing professionally today.

Now jump forward thirty plus years and witness the rebirth of this exciting macro photography learning experience. The world of macro photography will unfold before your eyes each evening as we photograph the myriad of tiny subjects, as never before seen. Flowers, insects, amphibians, reptiles, lichens, molds, fungus' and more will be our willing (and sometimes not so willing) subjects.
