Barkarilla Pooch Parade in Ybor City (DIY)

Do It Yourself (DIY) - This is an unofficial event, posted simply to give you ideas/locations to practice photography on your own. There is no designated FCCP Organizer, thus no pre-determined meet area or person in charge. If you wish to meet up with fellow FCCP members, feel free to use the event comments area to coordinate among yourselves. If there is enough interest or if a FCCP Org decides to lead, then the event will become official! Have fun, be safe, and remember to share your photos!

Joyce Gambacurta of Tampa dressed her Great Pyrenees Guinevere, left, and Juliette in pirate costumes for last year's Barkarilla parade.

Barkarilla Pooch Parade. This spoof on the pirate invasion and parade is now in its third year of revelry. The idea is simple: Dress yourself and your dog in pirate garb and head to the Dirty Shame in Ybor City on Jan. 4 at noon. The event is staged by Ye Loyal Krewe of Samuel Bellamy. Entry fee is $5 for humans, free for leashed dogs. Benefits dog charities.

Adult Admission $5, Free if in costume

After the event, remember to share!!  Several hours after the start of the event, a link to the FCCP Photo Gallery Album will be automatically created.  Please remember to upload some of your best images to the gallery and share them with our other members.

Practice culling, by loading only a handful of your top photos on this page.

** Note: If the event has DYI in the title, it doesn't have an official organizer! No matter who is listed as an Org or Event Host. These events have no coordination between the group and any entrance fees or arrangements.

I drove through Ybor about 11:15 and there were a few people with animals but it didn't seem too enticing. Maybe someone else had better luck?

Both the Times and the Trib. Both had some photos from the event on today's paper. The photos looked interesting but I'm sorry it didn't work out well for you.

It's ok. Maybe an organized event would be better as I am just beginning in the group. I'm not as confident as I'd like to be yet

The event started at 12 noon and ran on until 4:30. I had to leave after a couple of hours, missing the coronation and parade. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the people and their pets as well as the members of the Kerewe that hosted this charity event. I usually only post only one image per meet up but have posted several this time as I did not see any other FCCP members. I don't even have a pet but it was fun, the weather great and food catered from a nearby deli was super!

Did not make the parade, however the events prior were a lot of fun with a lot of very friendly animal lovers.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this event looked like. If you've got any shots you want to post please do so. I may make this and "official" event next year.

The link to upload is above.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
