Shoot the Moon at
the Pier in St. Petersburg
Possibly for the very last time!
Every month we'll photograph the moonrise from a unique location that provides great compositional elements such as bridges, skylines, and other prominent features.
This month will be a little different. The moonrise is a little over 15 minutes before sunset. The moon will be about the brightness of the sky, so HDR and/or multiple exposures and exposure blending may be required. I'll be happy to provide instruction and help with all your settings. A tripod will be a big help tonight, but not mandatory. We'll have yachts from the marina and basin in the foreground as well as the Pier. I've never shot from here, but it looks interesting on paper :-)
The actual moonrise is 8:06 PM, so allow time to pay your meter, move gear get setup etc. The location to shoot from is the grass and sand on the Northeast side of the Bayshore. You can bring chairs, coolers for water etc. I look forward to seeing everyone shoot the moon this evening ;)
We'll do a social activity afterwards at one of the nearby restaurants.
Please park along Beach Dr. and Bayshore, so bring change, for the meters (or use iPhone App). They enforce the meters, so don't forget to pay.
This location is very wide open and I may be forced to cancel if severe weather threatens before or during the PhotoWalk. I'll announce any cancelation via the comments section below and I'll email all RSVPd members.
