A new hotel has opened on Clearwater Beach and from it's 10th floor pub it offers a unique view of the marina and North Beach. We've shot the last couple of sunset from here and it's a great view! Bring a tripod and you'll have the opportunity to shoot some great Blue Hour images as well.
Please note the time change becuase of the end of Daylight Savings Time. Time will go back to later start times in the spring.
Clearwater Beach is a great place to practice various creative types of photography. The PhotoWalk usually heads over towards the marina and you'll have great opportunities to capture a small slice of local beach life. Watch for the many possibilities of b
ird in flight shots, fisherman and sailors performing their duties and the many visitors and locals. Several of the buildings offer great opportunities to practice HDR. Also keep an eye open for the many pelicans, gulls egrets and herons.
After the sunset sets, the sand settles and the shutters cool down, we'll adjourn to one of the local restaurants or pubs to relax and share our successes.
Parking is an issue on Clearwater Beach because of recent changes with regard to meters, prices etc. You can park in the Clearwater Marina lot and purchase an evening pass for $3.00 Parking in the Pier 60 lot is $2.00 an hour and and street parking is $1.25 an hour, if you can find a spot. Free street parking is 10 blocks up on North Beach.
