I hope everyone is enjoying the break in the heat and humidity to go out and do some shooting this weekend. We still have openings for the Lunch Cruise on an authentic paddle wheel ship. The 2 1/2 hour cruise is only $40 and includes lunch, choice of six entrees, desert, drinks and gratuity (cash bar available). We can start boarding at noon and the ship leaves Pasadena at 12:30 PM. We're welcome to photograph during the cruise and a genuine Dixieland Jazz Band will be performing. Please signup ASAP to avoid being disappointed.
An FCCP sponsor has given me a great offer for FCCP members. Members can purchase a full copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for the lowest price I've ever seen (think student price). We can't publicize the price, but once you enter the discount code at checkout, a smile will come to your face. If you've got questions, please email Jeff Donald at [address removed].
We're still waiting for word from Pinellas County representatives on our bid for the former Gulf Coast Museum of Art site at Pinewood Cultural Park. It now looks like November or later before we know something from the county. This wasn't what the county originally indicated, but I think we all know that government moves at its own pace. Once we know something, the information will be forwarded to the membership.
We mentioned in the last week a change in the number of emails that members will be receiving from Meetup.com. Hopefully, this will not impact the RSVPs for our many events. This is a 30 day trial and if RSVPs drop significantly during the trial the number of emails will go back to the former system. So, if you're enjoying the drop in emails let us know by RSVPing for an event today!
If you are still experiencing too many emails, please download our instructions on how to change YOUR personal email settings for Meetup.com Please DO NOT report our emails to your ISP/email host as SPAM. A member did this recently and this resulted in about a week of lost/interrupted emails that resulted in many members not getting vital information about classes, events etc. FCCP can't change your personal email settings, only you can do that. But if you need additional help, contact [address removed] Thanks for your help and understanding.
One indication that the reduction in emails is NOT working is the poor response for next Saturday's photowalk. We had over $500 in prizes to give away, but with a week to go and only 10 RSVPs the event was cancelled. Look for it be rescheduled after the first of the year. Sorry, but sponsors are not going to donate prizes with such a poor response.
We've got a great End-of-Month PhotoWalk scheduled for Saturday, October 29. Everyone likes to shoot sunrises, but no one like to get up early. Because of changes to Daylight Savings Time, this is latest sunrise you can shoot, 7:39 AM. Please follow the link above and RSVP for this great PhotoWalk in Downtown St. Petersburg.
Want to find out more about FCCP, our programs, classes, PhotoWalks, workshops and ask questions of our FCCP photo experts? Then this Tuesday evening we have the event for you! After several very successful New FCCP Member/Old Member Mixer in Tampa, the event comes back to Pinellas County. New and Old Members can meet with Jeff Donald, Creative Advisory Board Members and Board of Director Members and learn more about FCCP plans and events. Can't make it this Tuesday, then RSVP now for the November Mixer in St. Petersburg.
Just a reminder that we have many upcoming FCCP sponsored PhotoTours coming up. FCCP member Steven Hodel has 15 great international PhotoTours for 2012. FCCP Director Jeff Donald is leading 4 of the instructional photo tours:
Steve's company, Global Photography Tours, has 11 other great instructional PhotoTours scheduled for 2012 and you can learn more about them here. If you need additional information or to reserve you spot, call Steve or one of his representatives at [masked]
FCCP has openings for the 2012 PhotoTours to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in fall 2012 and a few openings for winter 2012. Contact Jeff Donald at[masked] for more details on Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.
Several members have asked if this is a change in direction for FCCP. FCCP and its predecessor's have been leading PhotoTours since 2005 and Jeff has been escorting tours internationally since 1986. FCCP, and Director Jeff Donald, look forward to showing you the best of the US and other international designations in 2012.

To get things started we're offering a free FCCP Individual Supporter membership ($50 value) to the first member that replies to this email with the correct answer to the following question:
Who were Apple Inc's (Apple Computers) founders?
