Greetings,

We have a very active week no the FCCP calendar and I just want to highlight a few of the more unique and interesting events coming up in the next 7 days.

We've received a lot of emails requesting more webinars in the evenings for those that work.  While we don't have total control of the times, I discussed the need for more evening webinars in our time zone and NIK Software has come through.  This week there are three webinars starting at 7 PM.  The following week there are five webinars starting at 7 PM or later.  We'll continue to push for later webinars for all you members that have day jobs.  You can see the calendar here.

We have a weekend of learning coming up! Friday morning we're offering a Beginning Street Photography In-the-Field Mini Workshop in Downtown St. Petersburg.  The Mini Workshop is from 9 AM to 1 PM.  Want to take the workshop for FREE?  Become a FCCP Supporter and you can take 2 Mini Workshops for FREE.  Complete details on membership is here.  Follow the link above to register for the Street Photography Mini Workshop.

Learn Adobe Lightroom 4 this Saturday and receive a FREE DVD with an additional 12 hours of instruction.  There are still a few seats available for this Saturdays Lightroom workshop.  Complete information and links to register are here.  Like all FCCP educational programs, it's covered by our FCCP Education Guarantee - which means you can repeat the class as many times as you want for FREE.

Sunday is another Beginning Digital Photography Bootcamp. This workshop is almost full.  If you have a LivingSocial, Groupon or AmazonLocal voucher register today or you'll have to wait for the next Bootcamp on October 6.  Complete details and links to RSVP are here.  Voucher numbers can be entered online or just print out and bring the voucher to class.

Weekly Assignment 10, REFLECTIONS, needs your vote! Every FCCP member is encouraged to vote for their favorite reflection photo from Weekly Assignment 10.  Follow this link to see the images and vote for your favorite image here. You can still join in the fun and learning for Weekly Assignment 11, YELLOW, here.  Weekly Assignment 12, SHADOWS, is registering here.

This Sunday join FCCP for a PhotoWalk to Sawgrass Lake. This is a beautiful Pinellas County Park that has been undergoing some restoration and improvements to the lake and waterways.  There are great scenes along the boardwalk and an observation tower that overlooks the lake.  We'll have an opportunity to observe some migrant birds and the usual Florida year around residents.  There will be an optional lunch following the PhotoWalk at Applebee's.  RSVP here for the PhotoWalk to Sawgrass Park.

We still need several dozen more photographers to help at CareFest 2012. This is a unique opportunity for any photographer of any skill level to give back to the community through photography.  This could even be a fun event for families.  ALL photographers are also invited to the celebration after the event and enjoy FREE food, drinks etc.  Don't miss out on this, help the less fortunate in our community!  RSVP here for the event nearest you.

We have our judges all lined up for our first FCCP Photography Contest. The Nature/Wildlife category will be judged by Canon Explorer of Light, Arthur Morris.  The People/Candid/Portrait category will be judged by noted travel photographer Bob Krist.  The Landscape/Scenic category will be judged by noted Florida photographer Clyde Butcher (tentative, dependent on his travel schedule).  The Open/Other category is being judged by author, photographer and instructor Jill Enfield.  You can learn more about and enter the contest here.

Thanks for reading, now go out and make some photographs.
