Thanksgiving at Blackwater River State Park

Thanksgiving in Blackwater River State Park.  Pot luck dinner at 12 noon followed by a hike to walk it off.  We ask that all attendees please bring a dish to share, and look under the Discussions tab, Message Board, and indicate what you will be bringing.  If you wish to camp, make your own arrangements.  Paul and Wallis Mayo are the event hosts, (850)[masked],  and will be happy to answer any of your questions.

Ok, I'm going to try and make this. I will know for certain in a day or two.

Should we kind of mention what we will bring for the covered dish, so we don't all bring cranberry sauce? haha

I can't get there until 1. What time would the hike start?

I'm thinking somewhere in the 1:30-2:00 pm range for starting the hike. We'll be shooting for noon for the meal but could be a little later. Come on out as soon as you can.

Are those turkeys under those charcoal covered galvanized metal trash cans (I mean ovens) haha

    September 26, 2013

    • Wallis M.

Yes...there were turkeys in the ovens!

And those turkeys taste better than any I ever tasted that came out of a "real" oven.
