Pack, Snack 'n Yak Out 'n Back

Have you ever wondered what the best way is to pack a kayak for an extended paddling / camping trip? Well join me this day to see how some of us do it. My friend, Greg Bailey, a veteran of kayak camping, will share his knowledge with us and offer some tips and tricks. Greg will bring his kayak and all the gear that he would usually carry for a four day / three night trip to the Everglades.  The Packing Demo will begin at 10 AM.

If you want, bring some of your gear and load your boat to see how launching & paddling a loaded boat feels on the water.

Also, bring your kayak and after the demo and QA (1+ hour) we'll have lunch in the park then we'll do a paddle along Julington Creek.

If you only want to join us for the paddle, we'll be launching after lunching sometime around 12-12:30.

Twenty-five outdoor enthusiasts showed up for an informative presentation on kayak camping, cool weather, hot dogs, and then a paddle. Thank you, Greg!

Great Informative Presentation by Chris! Weather was a little too cold for us to kayak though.

I am an experienced backpacker. New to the area and I have not yet purchased a kayak. So I'd like to learn more about kayak camping.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
