Arrive early to find a place to park and walk to demo.

It's that time of year!  The circus is coming to Tampa once again.  We plan to be speaking up for the animals, who suffer from the constant travel, abusive training and social isolation.  In the circus virtually all of animal's natural behaviors are thwarted.

Please come out and help us educate and be the voice for these animals. The circus has long been thought of as an event to delight and entertain.  But for Circus animals that spend up to 50 weeks per year in "transport" cages or railroad boxcars, the circus is no fun at all. The Demonstrations will occur at the intersection of Channelside Dr & S. Morgan St.  Each demo will be one and a half hour. We will try to get patrons going in as well as leaving the circus this year.  We welcome you for any time you can give.  The animals need our voice.

Animals in circuses live miserable lives of deprivation, confinement and abuse. Ringling's animal-care history is riddled with USDA violations and penalties. At least twenty-five Ringling elephants, including four babies, have died since 1992! More info: http://www.animalrightsflorida.org/Ringling

5 intrepid volunteers braved the rainy weather to hold signs and hand out leaflets. It stopped raining a few minutes after we arrived. A few of us stood under the interstate overpass to stay dry. At least one volunteer walked all the way from home in the rain to be there! That's commitment to voiceless animals! We raised awareness about the issue of elephants and other wild animals used in circuses.

And, I failed to mention, another volunteer took the bus all the way from USF to downtown Tampa and then back home. That's commitment!

Sorry, I was on my way and saw lightning, so decided to play it safe. Planning on coming back one day this weekend :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
