  • Please join local PETA supporters and the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida in speaking out against elephant rides at the International Market World.  Elephants are highly intelligent, social, and curious animals who deserve better than to be cruelly forced to plod along in circles all day while being prodded by a bullhook for people's amusement. For more information on how elephants are abused in the entertainment industry, take a look at this video:}

    Nosey deserves a demonstration, a protest, a great turnout in her honor to impress on the public what a dastardly crime is being committed here in Florida. I wish we wouldn't cancel the protest. Nosey's horrific owner has mistreated her and kept her chained up so tightly she can't move. We have to get the word out so that APHIS will finally stop renewing the bastard's license. Aphis says we have to get more evidence of mistreatment. Report to PETA anything you see or any time you know Nosey will be out some place. We've got to get her away from!

    PETA UPDATE: Yesterday, we sent you an e-mail about a demonstration that was being held on Saturday, February 8, at 12 noon to speak out against elephant rides at International Market World. We have just confirmed that International Market World no longer has any plans to host elephant rides this weekend, so we are canceling this demonstration. Thanks to all of you who contacted the market and were planning to attend this protest. We will keep you updated on future opportunities to stand up for elephants and other animals in your area.

    Rain or shine Nosey needs our support. She's sick, abused, neglected and exploited for years and years and years. Let's get her out of harms way and into a place with her own kind to roam free with proper care and attention. Hope to see you there.

    come on folks - this poor elephant needs our help -she has been mistreated ,denied vet care for ongoing problems and still forced to give rides - for the past 30+ years - please get yourselves out there - i'm sure you can afford to give this aging elephant an hour of your time - please.

    she belongs happy at last at an elephant sanctuary.
