Its it that time again for us to all get together and clean up Al Lopez Park.  We start at 9:00 am and will end at 11:00 am.  It will be a great day to be outdoors in nature while doing something worthwhile.  We are starting earlier because of the hot weather with us right now here in sunny Florida.

Florida Voices for Animals has adopted beautiful Al Lopez Park through the Tampa Bay Beautification's Adopt-A-Park Program.  In exchange for FVA cleaning up litter and debris, removing invasive plants and performing other tasks at the park 4 times a year, the city posted a sign at the park to let others know that FVA has adopted this park. This is a great way to beautify our community while at the same time letting others know about FVA.

We will meet in front of the small green building (public restrooms) to your immediate left as you enter the park. If you arrive a little late please call the FVA phone to find us at[masked]-8368.

Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty and shoes (closed-toe). Bring water in a reusable container and you may also want to bring sunscreen and a visor/ball cap.  If anyone has the tools to grab trash without leaning over, please bring those.  We will provide gloves and garbage bags.

Hope you can join us for a very rewarding fun day.  Lunch after anyone?

It was a very hot day and got a chance to sweat some more (Did cycling for 1 hr at Flatwoods Park just prior). When people litter with balloon fragments and plastic bags, they just don't realize the harm to the environment and animals. Cigarette smokers are the worst since they also create fires. The entire earth is their ashtray. Thanks to troopers like Selma, Marie, Diane, Justine, Brian, Susannah & Spencer, the park is a lot cleaner!
