"Adopt Your New Best Friend from HCAS" Demo! (followed by lunch @ Moes SW Grill)

Join us Saturday, December 8th
from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Adopt Your New Best Friend

From Hillsborough County Animal Services (a positive demo brought to you by local animal lovers)

Volunteers of ALL ages are needed to help drive traffic to Animal Services, by holding signs with pro-adoption messages, such as: "Adopt Your New Best Friend", "Adopt, Don't Shop", etc. Please invite everyone you know to join us. The animals need our help!

We will be standing on the sidewalks along the Brandon Town Center Mall (main) entrance with our signs, smiles, and waves. Our goal is to get as many people through the doors of Animal Services as possible, so that more animals find safe, loving homes.

The only way to put an end to the 4-5 MILLION dogs and cats that die in shelters nationwide year after year, is to educate people to STOP the BREEDING AND BUYING! and ALWAYS SPAY/NEUTER!

We will be parking across the street, at the Regency Square, near Moe's Southwest Grill (where you are welcome to join us for lunch following the demo).

The address for parking & lunch is:

2338 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511

This event was originally scheduled to happen outside of Animal Services, but the location has been changed. While our intent remains the same (to increase life-saving pet adoptions at our county's shelter), we are confident our message will reach a greater number of people at the Brandon Mall entrance, given the large volume of holiday traffic expected on this date.

Plz specify on your RSVP if you will be joining us for lunch.

Note: Signs will be provided for your use! Simply bring your smile, and be prepared to stand in the sun for up to 3 hours (with sunglasses, a hat, water, and sunscreen).

We hope to see you there!

Thank you to the 9 people who came out to show their support for homeless animals. I just wish more people would "practice what they preach" and join us to take a stand to help the animals. If not you, who? If not now, when?

Brittany, I started planning these positive demos by Hillsborough County Animal Services last year and we had great response from the public and the shelter. They are a little different than the normal puppy mill protests in that we are at or near the shelter and are trying to drive traffic to the shelter so that people will adopt, we concentrate on the positive with these. I think BOTH the positive demos and the puppy mill protests work hand in hand in educating and saving lives. We have yet to do a positive demo at other county shelters, but are more than willing to start if we can get enough volunteers. Check out the demo that Bob is talking about and maybe you can gather some interest from people over that way to start positive demos at those shelters.

An important message for this time of year: Adopt, don't shop. Come out and help to get the message out. Warm regards to all. --Bob

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
