Join Us In Prayer.

Hau Mitakolas

I hope you can all join us at the next Inipi scheduled for Sunday 5/19; we will plan to go in to pray around noon (Indian Time). I put an end time of 4 PM, but that is really determined by how many people come, and while I enjoy sharing a meal afterwards with all who attend, if you need to leave after smoking the Channupa, that is entirely up to you. Please make sure to read the 2 discussions I started, as there is a lot of information on Inipi protocol/etiquette, and I do ask everyone to abide by these guidelines to the best of their abilities. As of this afternoon, Teller County has instituted a fire restriction, but we can still have Ceremony during a restriction; only during a fire ban do I have to call a Lodge off. Keep praying for more moisture, and let's hope we can avoid the fire season we had last year. Please feel free to invite guests, as we only have Open Lodges, but if you could make sure that they're also aware of Inipi protocol/etiquette, I'd appreciate it. If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call, and I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP with an answer. Hope to see you all in 3 weeks, and stay well and take care till then.

It was good to find other people who like to pray in the Lakota way. The founder's commitment to authenticity was apparent from start to finish. Only wish more people had been there to take part in it.

Hau Mitakolas I really want to say a big pilamaya to Greg and Brian for driving in from Ft. Morgan and Greeley to attend todays Inipi. I am exhausted afterwards, so a 4 hour drive to get home must be even more so. My prayers are that they arrive home safely, and that they can come back to join us in prayer again at the next Lodge. Pilamaya as always to Jolene for tying the Prayer Ties, preparing the Inyans, tending the Fire, and carrying the Stones. While it is an honor to do that for the Oyate, it is also hard work, and her help is always appreciated. I'll be posting the date for the next Inipi in the next few days, but our being able to have a Lodge will be contingent on whether there is a fire ban. Please keep praying for moisture, not just so that our tiyospaye can have Inipi, but so that all the People of all the Nations can avoid another heart breaking fire season.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
