Hashing is a non-competitive social running activity. It's a great way to meet fun people, get introduced to cool and scenic locations in the region, exercise a little bit, and replenish those calories with some tasty beverages. Rochester's hashing group, the Flour City Hash House Harriers (FCH3 for short) hosts a trail every Thursday evening during the spring, summer, and fall, and every Sunday afternoon during the winter.
Our trails range from easy to moderate runs, usually between 3 and 5 miles long (with plenty of chances to take breaks along the way), along with a shorter walkers trail for those that aren't interested in running. Hashing requires faster runners at the front of the pack to search for the trail and run extra distance, while the rest of us enjoy the fruits of their labor and get to take the shortest route, so hashing can be enjoyed by runners of all abilities! Trails can consist of urban running, trail hiking, and everything in between.
Everyone aged 21 to infinity and of all abilities is welcome to the hash.
