Spiritual practice

This group is for both people who currently have a silent spiritual practice such as meditation or Remembrance and those who would like to start such a practice. Most people I've spoken with say that the effect of doing spiritual practice in a group is much more profound than doing it alone. That's certainly my experience. We will meet weekly and do our practice for an hour. People are welcome to stay when we end to ask questions or discuss their experience.

It is my understanding that Remembrance is based on the Old Testament phrase "Remember My name in the night." In the Sufi tradition it can be used in many ways, but the foundational way is simply as a practice that one does, preferably for at least an hour.

For those who are interested in learning the very deep and profound form of prayer known as Remembrance, I will be teaching it before each meeting (see separate listing). If you don't know Remembrance or if you feel like you need a refresher, please come as there will be no teaching during the practice time.

There is no commitment for this group--you can come once, every time or only occasionally (It would be great if you could register here, but it's not necessary). I do ask however, that for purposes of creating a safe and holy container,  that you arrive before 7 so that we can start at 7 and that you stay until we end at 8 and that you leave the room only if it is absolutely necessary. If you think this might be a problem for you, please call me so that we can discuss it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
