November Gathering & Pot Luck

There will be a documentary film crew at the Gathering. You will not be shown in the film without first signing a release form. The form will be provided at the Gathering by the film's producers.
Please indicate on your RSVP comment what you plan to bring for the pot luck. IMPORTANT: Please bring either a hearty side or main dish equivalent to at least enough to feed yourself. You don't need to bring dessert, one will be provided. If you have your own suggestions on how to make the potluck operate better please let Whitney know. The Fellowship of Freethought, as part of its mission to promote a family-friendly organization that emphasizes education, socialization, and charity, will be encouraging its members to gather together once a month to learn from each other, share in each others' lives, and coordinate outreach to the community. These "Gatherings" will combine music, short presentations, and special announcements all running alongside a fun yet educational youth program. Following presentations and youth activities is a potluck meal to encourage close fellowship among all members.
Monthly Theme: Gratitude As part of our charitable outreach, we will accept non-perishable food items for Resource Center Dallas. Resource Center Dallas is one of the primary gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) and HIV/AIDS service organizations in North Texas. Resource Center Dallas' Nutrition Center/Food Pantry serves more than 800 clients with HIV/AIDS. We can help them by donating food items such as canned goods, condiments, rice, pasta, cereal, etc. So please bring your donations to the November gathering! We will also be having a blood drive! There will be a Carter bus in the parking lot from 12-3. So please consider giving blood -- blood donors save lives!

It was great. Great meeting. Great Pot Luck. I couldn't donate blood (not enough hemoglobin) but got to keep the t-shirt anyway.

I don't know if the presence of the film crew preoccupied the regular FOF members and created an unusual circumstance on 11/21, but nobody made me, as a first-time visitor, feel welcomed or even acknowledged. I felt completely invisible, and it made for an uncomfortable experience.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
