Folies Bergere - Houston is auditioning women to join our weekly rehearsals and star in our show.  This casting call is for women 42 and over with no experience necessary!   

 

When was the last time you enjoyed the magic of costumes, make-up and a chorus line show?  Have you secretly dreamt of a life on the stage, in the spotlight, applause affirming your self respect and ability to entertain and transport an audience into another world?  Live your dream with Folies Bergere - Houston.

Train with this show for 12 weeks and experience a new found confidence, poise and respect.  Induldge your senses in the beauty of movement and expression through dance.  The warmth of connection with other "showgirls" is infectious and will change your very chemistry and your community. 

Our season ends with a show that will wow your family and friends.  Break out of your habits, follow your dream and express a new you to the world.  This is the year to do something radically different, fabulously fun and truly transformative.

 

"I remember countless auditions for high school theatre and chorus lines where the focus was who was already good enough to perform.   No one cared about enthusiasm or deep desire to discover my untapped persona.   I moved on and found a sports coach who did care about developing my movement and self expression.   Still deep inside I wonder what might have been had anyone of my high school teachers been able to observe what was right in front of them.

 Years later I met Beverly D, an amazing woman and coach who loves to dance and perform.   She, unlike my high school teachers, does not care if you are good, she cares about whether or not you are fully engaged in your pleasure.   Her deep pleasure of dance, costume, singing and performing is infectious.   Her loving attention to what is observable creates a field in which I can find new parts of me to express, be more creative and more animated.  

 This audition will be like no other, because everyone who shows up will be cast.   You will be invited into a field of pure pleasure and week by week learn to follow only the pleasure that is showgirl."
