Sing Into Spring - Song Swap and Pot Luck

  • April 13, 2014 · 4:30 PM
  • Private home - directions will be sent

It's about time, don't you think? Time for flowers poking out of the ground. Time for songs of hope, love and weary winters left behind. Time to gather with a great group and share favorite songs and foods. We'll gather at 4:30 and share potluck until 5:15 then start the song swap.

Parking is a bit of a challenge so I am asking everyone that can to carpool. If you complete the questionnaire, I'll give you the info to join carpools from Greenfield, Northampton, Easthampton, Amherst and the farmstand up the road. Feedback I get is that folks enjoy getting to know each other this way and it seems to always work well.

Given space constraints, please RSVP if you know you can come and cancel if you know you can't. We'll add spaces to the cap when carpools start forming so don't let a waitlist keep you away, we'll try to fit everyone in.

RSVPs will close at 12 PM on Saturday.

We're a pretty fun and eclectic bunch with a big welcome for newcomers. There are some great songs and joy that happens when we get together. We hope you be part of co-creating it with us.

Thanks again, Nan, for being the hostess with the mostest. Though it was a smaller group than in past meetups, I enjoyed the pleasures of singing, socializing with old and new friends, yummy treats, and just relaxing together in the bliss of springtime just as much as previously. And it was especially cool to try some songs not in the Rise Up Singing book - like, Beatles!

When will be the next gathering?

    • Nan

Welcome to the group Helen! It will be a Sunday probably in late May - I am still sorting out my calendar but will post as soon as I know. I look forward to meeting and singing with you.

    Hi Nan and Folks,

Pray this finds you well and filled with song.

It was definitely right for me to be in Maine at this time; yet not easiest visit. Mariya still has a ways to go to return to how she functioned a few weeks ago. The Vegus Nerve Stimulator was turned on and seems to help though really early in process and time will tell. Mariya remains very unsteady and required two people to hold her upright while she walked or was overly lethargic or asleep for much of my visit. Please continue to hold us both in your Prayers.

You may have noticed that somehow my home location got listed as Hadley rather than Greenfield where I actually live. I have attempted numerous times and ways to change it. Does anyone know one that works? Enjoy,

    Hi Nan,

Pray this finds you well and enjoying the blooming of Spring.

    Thanks for your prayers.

One of the songs I often sing my daughter over the phone: How could anyone ever tell you . Do you know it?

    Enjoy,

    STORM

Yes though I often sing you are instead of you were. If you sung it several times through in the group you might desire to have a point where those who chose could face each other and sing it directly into each others eyes and Hearts.

Storm - as lovely as this image is (and I have experienced it this way in workshop environments), this isn't the right container for creating this deeper experience. That said, I'll be glad to include the singing of it in our circle.

    Hi All,

Pray this finds you well and life going smoothly.

Mariya spent from 5:30 PM to 1 AM in the emergency room last night due we think to possible drug toxicity caused by her not reacting as expected to her pain med for several days as well as not responding well to a med change that occurred shortly before her operation. They ruled out several possibilities but don't know exactly why.
She remains unsteady and needing a wheelchair today just to get from the living room down the hall. Please send Prayers, Energies, Light, Love to her, me ( I AM quite frazzled and don't know if this will delay my trip to see her once again) and all involved with her care.

    BLESSINGS,

    STORM

I feel for you and for your baby. Although nothing would be better for Mariya than for you to be there, singing to her, here's some music at 432Hz, supposed to be healing to mind and body. It's for you too. Blessings to you all. https://www.youtube.co...

    Hi all,

Pray this finds you well with a song in your Heart.

My daughter, MARIYA, was finally operated on April 1st. They placed a Vegus Nerve Stimulator inside her to help with her seizures. However, the wounds have to heal before the device gets turned on. Unfortunately for my participation in this group this month, the date set to activate it has been set as Fri. April 11th which will cause me to be out of the area until Mon April 14th. as I AM going to Maine to be with her.

Please hold us in your prayers that my daughter heals well, and reacts favorably once the device gets turned on, and that it does in fact aid her health and longevity.

    BLESSINGS,

    STORM

If you don't know where you're going any road will get you there. Is what you are doing a road to contentment? What is the difference between happiness and contentment? Which are the songs, sung or unsung that encourage you to think on these things? Please reflect, respond, or............... Thanx!
