Join sommelier/wine blogger Kristen Siebecker and chef/food journalist Matthew Wexler for an intimate sunset gathering to taste exquisite wines and sample four courses of recipes from the forthcoming food memoir and cookbook Uncommonly Good.

Tastings will be served in a casual environment and reflect the international flavor profiles and farm-to-table cuisine of the boutique retreat center Good Commons. Due to the nature of this tasting, no dietary modifications can be made, but the menu will be gluten-free.

Kristen Siebecker has been a great fan of viticulture and vinification since her first illicit sip of Boone's Farm wine beverage many years ago. More recently, she became a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers, completed the Advanced Certification program from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust with distinction and is certified in Advanced Blind Tasting by the American Sommelier Association. Kristen continued to hone her skills for several years in the wine retail industry, advising customers and assisting in the “Sommelier for an Evening” program. She is the currently the Corporate Events Director for Swirl Events providing wine tastings in the NYC area. In addition, she is a wine consultant and occasional on-site sommelier for Good Commons, a retreat center in Vermont, as well as the NYC Celiac Disease Meet-Up Group.
Matthew Wexler is a food, travel and lifestyle writer, and a trained chef. His work has appeared in Hamptons Magazine, Gotham, Hemispheres, Go Magazine, Passport, Edible Berkshires, Rendezvous en France and Out There; online for EDGE Media Network, Endless Simmer, and offMetro; as well as his blog, roodeloo.com. As a chef, Matthew studied at the French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Center) and launched the culinary program at Good Commons, a boutique retreat center in Plymouth, Vermont.
