Last week, people from all over the state of California came together to get Food & Water Watch-sponsored California Assembly Bill 301 passed out of the state Assembly and forwarded to the state Senate. This bill, which requires bottled water companies to disclose how much water they are shipping out of our communities, is the first step in telling bottled water companies to stop taking our water. But we can't do it without YOU!

Come to Food & Water Watch's May meeting, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 7pm in downtown Los Angeles. Together, we will discuss how, as a small army of concerned people, we are going to get this important piece of legislation passed and signed into law. Also, we will discuss how to:

•Table at events and get postcards signed in support of AB 301

•Get endorsement letters from your local neighborhood group supporting the legislation

•Host a house party centered around local water issues

Food will be provided!

Getting to the meeting: Our offices are conveniently located less than one block from the 7th St./Metro Center Red and Blue line metro stops. There is also metered street parking and public parking lots. I have found there are more affordable priced lots on Hope St. between 7th St. and 8th St. and on 8th St. between Hope St. and Grand Ave. Also, please note the time the lot closes, as some lots close at 8pm.

Please RSVP to Renee Maas at [masked] or [masked] if you plan on attending (or think you might) so I know approximately how much food to provide. Also let me know if you have any dietary restrictions.

I look forward to meeting you May 20, 2009 at 7pm!
