Does any Foodie know a restaurant serving sous vide prepared meals we can try?

Is anyone still interested in getting a group together for a sous vide tasting menu? I could easily ask the Chefs at FarmTable Kitchen [upstairs restaurant at Locale Market] to put one together if there's enough interest/attendees. I could also include a wine/beer pairing option. I'm currently organizing our next beer and wine dinners for the Fall and planning a sake & sushi event for November, so would love to be involved more and have the Chefs/restaurant space to host group dinners if there's a serious interest from members.

Jessica, my husband and I would be inter in that. I am always up for farm to table as well. I would enjoy a wine pairing. My husband would do the beer pairing or he would really enjoy a vodka pairing if they could do it. Lol

The Rolling Pin in Brandon will be conducting a Sous Vide Demonstration and Dinner on Aug 27th, 2015. The menu will include Mi Cuit Salmon and 72 hour Short Ribs.

More information can be found at:

It would be great to see some fellow foodies there.

Not a restaurant, but the Rolling Pin in Brandon has held chef demonstration classes with sous vide prepared meat. The steak was incredible. They may be willing to set up a private class if interested.

Sous vide is an interesting preparation method, one that I do not care for. It will not be easy to find a place in the area that does it well. Thomas Keller does it well, however we do not have access to him here. Let me know if you guys find a chef doing it and I will come along for the adventure.

Chef Gary Moran is no longer operating Wimauma, but he does a lot of dinners at various venues. I have a phone number for him if anyone wants to call.

I believe that BT uses the Sous Vide form of preparation, as we have talked about it. Might also check with the Edison Food Lab. I followed a recipe a few months ago mimicking Sous Vide with sealed plastic bags. No idea what it was, but from one of my magazines.

Don't know about Sous Vide, but I just put in a suggestion for Prepare/eat Indian Cooking coming up this Friday. Needs 2 more rsvp before it posts as a meetup for us. Look at 'suggestions.'
Mango Lassi: Spinach Pakors: Coconut Chicken Curry: Stuffed Baby Eggplants: Parantha: etc. etc. Yum!

Last time I was at Cafe BT on Howard Ave they had a special of Lobster Sous Vide. You could probably call her and she may do something special. They have a private side room for a group.

The only restaurants I could find in FL are Jacksonville, Miami, Palm Beach and Winter Garden...perhaps what if the retailer (in the interest of selling to us) would put on a demonstration? Just a thought...I am intrigued

Like any processed food it must be heated to the proper temperature and chilled quickly enough after cooking, if it isn't served immediately, to be safe. Check Wikipedia for a more extensive treatment of safety for this type of cooking.

Here's an interesting article that says Panera Bread and Chipotle both use it.

None that I know of in the area. And there are too many questions being raised about the safety of foods being prepared in this manner. Think I'll pass.
