RSVP rules

Our meetup group is off to a great start!  I am glad so many of you are in to food, films and fun.  Since we are a couple days before out first big dinner I would like to go over a few rules of the group.

If a reservation is involved for any meetup and your plans change, please, oh please, change your RSVP to 'no' so that others can sign up for the event. 24 hrs notice is ideal, but I realize that things come up at the last minute so the morning of the event is also acceptable.  This is especially important if there is a wait list. It is the polite thing to do.

Another reason to get your cancellations in early is that I need to update the restaurant on our table size.  When I have a large reservation, such as with Aventura (table for 16), if half of you cancel at the last minute, the restaurant might not be very happy with us.  Sometimes they bring in extra staff to wait on a large group.

So that this does not become a constant problem, I am going to implement a 3 strikes and your out policy.  If you do not show up at an event that involved reservations 3 times when you had RSVP'd yes, you will be banned from any future events involving reservations. This is not my first meetup rodeo, so please don't test me.

If the event does not have an attendee limit then reservations are typically not involved so no shows are not such a problem..... except for maybe being rude.

Also...WARNING...if you ever reply to a message that I send to the group, your response is broadcast to the ENTIRE group.  If you want to email me, then click on my picture and hit the email link.

Other than that, that's it for now.

Thanks for joining.  See ya at an event,
