Attendance Policy

Many of our events at restaurants have limits which are imposed by the maximum party size a restaurant can accommodate. For some of our hikes, we impose limits based on the pace we’ve set and for safety reasons. We never open more spots than there is actual capacity at events, so please don’t RSVP “yes” unless you are sure you can attend, and if your plans change, please update your RSVP to “No” as soon as possible to give others a chance.

No Shows
We have adopted a three-strikes attendance policy. Members who have accumulated three strikes will have their membership to the group revoked. Strikes can be accumulated in the following ways:

  • If you RSVP “Yes” to an event and fail to show up, you may be marked “no-show” and incur one strike.
  • If you RSVP with guests and your guests fail to show up, you will incur one strike for each guest who fails to show.
  • You will incur a strike if you change your RSVP to “no” after RSVP’s to the event have been closed. If the organizer has not set an RSVP close time, the cutoff is 4 hours before the start of the event.

Attendance will be taken at the host/organizer’s discretion.

You are responsible for keeping track of your own no-shows, which can be viewed on your member profile for this group. No-shows can be removed from your record in one of two ways:
  • If you have a legitimate reason for not showing up to the event, you can appeal the decision to the event host.
  • If you successfully attend 8 events after receiving a no-show, the earliest marked no-show on your profile will be removed.

Last-Minute Attendance
Spots for events will occasionally open up after RSVP’s to an event have been closed. If you would like to fill that spot you must contact the event host, either by messaging them, commenting on the meetup event, or phone. Do not show up for events if your RSVP has not been confirmed unless you have explicit permission from the host or an organizer attending the event. If you drop in to one of our events without an RSVP, hosts and organizers can ask you to leave.
