VIsit a Farm, eat an organic lunch and participate in a fermentation class

Hello Foodies!!!

I have good news about our July outing!

Our visit will be to THE GARDEN farm in Capitol Hill.  Aleece, the owner of THE GARDEN, started gardening in efforts to feed her body the healthiest ingredients for optimum health and nutrition.  Our outing will begin with an organic luncheon at 12:30 PM on July 20th provided by Chef Carrie with Renegade Foods followed by a tour of the garden and a fermentation class at 2:00 PM.

Due to the nature of this outing, being a customized outing, I will be collecting the funds at the time you RSVP

Cost for both organic lunch including tip and fermentation class $28.  Aleece will also have a few kombucha mothers to share if people want to bring a large glass jar to transport it in.   Donations accepted for those who want a kombucha mother.

    Hello,
Remember to bring a jar tomorrow to the farm if you would like a Kambucha mother for a small donation. For those who RSVP'd see you tomorrow!

Hi everyone, I found some information on fermentation on this blog, if you would like to learn a bit more about it.

I would like to go but I've retired and am too busy. Seriously are you going to fruition / I love the whole idea of visiting (VIsit - is that Russian?) farms and dairies and then eating some of the food they grow and harvest.

Does anyone know the location yet? Costs involved? Sounds like great fun, so I'd like to plan for it.

      Hello everyone,

Thanks for your question Dave and both Rich and Dave for your interest in this event.
I am in communication with the owner of the Garden located in Park Hill. This farm/restaurant only does private events at this time. As a result, we will need to prepay when we make the reservation. I am working to get pricing and a time so that we are able to plan our outing. I tried to plan this earlier, but it was too early in the year so they were not taking reservations at that time.
I think this will be a fresh, unique outing that I hope you all enjoy!

Looking forward to this, Gabby! One of my coworkers in NY brought in homemade Kombucha right before I left and it tasted amazing!

I want to let everyone know that you can do just lunch or just the fermentation. The class is $10 and lunch is $15 plus $3 for the tip = $18.
I was not able to add two payment options through meetup so you can use paypal with my email address and send me an email letting me know what you chose. My email is [masked]

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
