See all- Family Style Dim Sum at Top Island Seafood RestaurantTop Island Seafood Restaurant, Alhambra, CA
Top Island Seafood Restaurant is popular for its dim sum and banquet style cantonese seafood. It still has the ladies pushing the dim sum carts by the tables (many places do it fresh to order now in the back kitchen), but I still love the dim sum cart option. This place has been on my radar for the longest time and business seems to be brisk and busy for them. Asians are hard to please when it comes to food so the quality has stood up over the years.
We are doing an early start time as weekends are very busy and the restaurant opens at 9:30 am. Please try your best to come on time (no late arrivals past 15 minutes). Your consideration is appreciated. As we do, this is family style (we will order many dishes and divide the final bill equally). As in most dim sum places, there is an extra tea charge of $1.93 per person so even if you don't drink tea, this will be included in the final bill.
All dim sum items are $5.99 each. Please bring cash (expected bill is $25-$42 per person).
Dim sum has to be one of my favorite things to eat.
Some dim sum dishes:
Steamed Spareribs in Black Bean Sauce
Steamed Chicken Feet
Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll
Shrimp Har Gow
Siu Mai (pork potstickers)
Hom Sui Guk (Glutinous Fried ball with meat inside)
Steamed BBQ pork Bun
Pan Fried Turnip Cake
Bean Curd Roll with Seafood in Oyster Sauce
Fried Spring Egg Roll
Baked Egg CustardYelp Reviews for Top Island Seafood Restaurant
There is plenty of free parking in the large parking lot in front.
Space is limited. We will be sitting together at a round table for 8. Please cancel at least 48 hours before the event, out of consideration for your fellow foodies and organizer, so others who may be on the waitlist may join.
This event is cross-posted with LA Asian Foodies. I will be monitoring the RSVP list so we don't accidentally overbook but only 8 spots TOTAL.
Come eat, make merry and have nice chats with your fellow foodies!
Update 03/06/24: Reopened RSVPS for three more people. We will host two tables of eight. Each table will be getting the same dishes.
Update 03/05/24: I have closed RSVPs as we are overbooked with five extra people at this point. I'm so happy to see the interest in the event but if you really think you won't be able to make it, please cancel sooner than later so we can try to keep it to a table of 8-10 max. I do not want to cancel anyone's RSVP so if everyone does attend, we will split the group to two tables.
