Street Eats ~ Tacos, Mulitas, Quesadillas, Sopes & More ~ Hollywood

I found a few great taco trucks in ma 'hood that I'd like to share with you. Prices are CHEAP but the quality is pretty high and they put out some pretty damn good Mexican food. Not just tacos, I tried their mulitas which was awesome. What made it so good is because they hand make their own tortillas and I requested some sauteed onions and jalapenos which he cheerfully added to my order at no extra charge! Decent condiment table with about 8-10 different salsas and veggie ingredients like onions, radishes, cilantro, tomato and green/red salsa.

This truck makes some good eats. Sometimes there's two trucks at this location but the one I go to is the one that makes their tortillas from scratch and to order. This venue is across the street from a Metro Red Line Station, so taking the Redline is a great way to check out this truck... But if you are driving, no problem, there's tons of free parking in the Jon's parking lot. The trucks are on the South end of the parking lot. Here's a google map... http://goo.gl/maps/GfSSN

This may be destined to become a monthly repeating event but each month we might visit a different truck, or return to one of our favorites. No limit to member signups so this could turn into impromptu street parties with our group!

Hey we got some decent taco trucks on the mean streets of Hollywood... I don't need to go all the way to Boyle Heights for some kickass Mexican street food! There's also some great Thai, pho and other terrific cheap eats besides Mexican cuisine.

This is NOT a crawl. Each month we will just visit one truck per night and we can sample and share various dishes such as sopes, huraches or mulitas that maybe you've never tried before.

Cash only. No biggie if you are late but many trucks don't arrive at their location until 8pm, so these events will usually start no earlier than 8pm.

This is a good event for Newbie Members!

Well... this didn't go as planned... Both trucks no showed so after waiting 30 minutes for possible members to arrive, I decide that we can eat at a nearby Thai place called Yai's. They have another location in Thaitown which I've been to, but this was a first time for me here. Food was decent, run of the mill Thai food at reasonable prices for HUGE portions. There was one dish that really stood out and that was their BBQ Beef dish! OMG it was delicious! The pad thai, basil chicken and morning glory w/crispy pork were all tasty but standard so it was nice to find one great dish worth returning for...

Dress warm! It's only gonna be about 48-50 degrees tonight! Or use more hot sauce and jalapenos!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
