Historic Philippe's Lunch, Chinatown tour, MOCA Museum & Little Tokyo Tour

Hey folks, I've got 3 extra vouchers for $5 to buy $10 of food at Philippe's so the first 3 to sign up can buy the voucher from me if they wish.
Be one of the first 3 to sign up and pay me $5.50 (covers cc fees) and the voucher is yours, but... only the first THREE. I will email you the voucher upon receipt of payment via Amazon Payments. Please do not make payments to me after the 3 are gone.
UPDATE: ALL 3 DISCOUNT VOUCHERS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED. We will start this Sunday adventure by meeting at Philippe's at 11:30am. I will be hanging out, inside at the long standing table that is to the right of the counter when facing the front counter. I think it's near the coffee and pickled eggs. Look for me or call my cell at 323.821.3077. You should definitely take my cell number if you haven't met me yet and not sure what I look like. $10 will buy you a lot of food at Philippe's, so if you are one of the lucky one's and gets one of the vouchers for $5, all the better. Portions are huge. I'm gonna skip the pickled egg this time and go for a nice hot 10oz bowl of split pea soup ($2.40) which looked awesome last time we were here. Their sammies go for $5.75 to $6.95.

Philippe's Yelp Reviews After lunch, we'll take a brief Chinatown tour, walking from Philippe's for less than one mile and stop into a live poultry shop, dim sum and pastry shop and a couple of small Chinese herbalist and grocery markets. We might buy a few dim sum items to try out as well! If the group wishes, we could also bounce over to LAX-Inc Market... the Thai Costco of L.A. I love this place! We can discuss our options over lunch... From there, we will jump in our cars and head over to the MOCA Museum and I have an annual membership so I can bring 3 others into the museum for free! General admission is $10. To try to keep this as fair as possible, if there's more than four in our group, the members who didn't get the lunch deal will draw cards for the 3 free admissions. Or maybe make a deal i.e. if there are 6 members in the group, everyone agrees to pay $5. THE GEFFEN CONTEMPORARY AT MOCA 152 NORTH CENTRAL AVENUE LOS ANGELES, CA 90013 Bring cash for food and parking and some extra in case you see a few items of interest while shopping. If people still have some energy left, we could also walk around Little Tokyo and maybe have a stop at Yougurtland, Daikoya, Woori Market (formerly Mitsuwa Market) and is now a Korean/Asian market, or we could go our separate ways... or we could hit a Sake Bar or... who knows what might happen??? Woori Market 333 S Alameda St Los Angeles, CA 90013
Woori Yelp Reviews We might end up at an Izakaya joint or a Chinese seafood restaurant if our adventure continues to unfold into the cocktail/dinner hour. So clear your schedule, cancel your shopping plans to fight over toys in the mall and bring your camera and let's have a fun filled dining and shopping adventure! So, if you have no plans this Sunday, come out and play with us! Sorry for the last minute posting here, but my Philippe's vouchers expire after this weekend, so I gotta use them all up... and I just bought my MOCA membership... and I need to buy a few items in Chinatown... and I'd like to check out the new Woori Market... and I love to wander around downtown... This is sorta like a tour of Chinatown, Little Tokyo, take in a museum and a fun way to eat, socialize, shop and learn about some of my secret spots that I love to shop at. All free but for the price of admission and your own food. I'm going to limit the group size to 7, but if a wait list develops, I'll consider increasing the group size. There will be no auto reminders, so you don't need to rsvp NO to avoid getting future notices. At least I'm hoping this will prevent you from getting a notice if you are not signed up. Host: Darrell

was a very nice afternoon. the only minor issue was that phillippe's food was not as good as it used to be--and as i expected it to be, given i have eaten there many times. other than that, was very nice with very nice company. i didn't go on the whole tour, just to lunch and the chinese american museum, which i didn't know even know existed, which was a nice bonus.

I totally messed up at lunch... I ordered the ham and cheese sammie which I found dry, stale bread. The split pea soup was really bland. Next time gotta order the Beef Stew which is an off menu item we saw a guy next to us order!

We had a great time hitting 3 museums... Chinese-American, Japanese American and MOCA Geffen Contemporary. So interesting. No photos inside any of these joints, FYI. After, we did a walking tour of Little Tokyo... 3 museums & lunch for about $5/person! Best bargain Meetup event ever!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
