CLICK HERE TO SEE PHOTOS OF OUR LAST WINE TASTING POTLUCK!

What to bring: Bring a California wine, preferably from the Sonoma area AND a home-made dish to share. No two buck chuck wines or any wines valued less than $15. Your dish should feed 8 people.  Sorry, but no potato chips and dips please.  Your dish must be home-made, no store-bought stuff, we want some good serious grub.

Paper plates, plastic cups, paper napkins and plastic forks Will Not be used at this event, that is just so, er, um...uncivilized.  You will eat with real plates, real wine glasses, restaurant-grade white linen tablecloths and white linen napkins.  Serious food and wine need a serious presentation.

We will have a wine tasting, eat dinner, clean up.....and just hang out.

Please post what food you are bringing when you RSVP.

No guests are allowed for this event, all attendees must be members of LA Foodies.

There is a $15 refundable deposit to attend this event.  The deposit is required to deter flakes.  Your deposit will be electronically refunded within 24 hours of the event.

Great group of people with outstanding food and wine. Every time we have one of these wine and food potlucks, it turns out to be a real dining adventure. A big thank you for everyone that attended. We had a great time.

Enjoyed food which was full of delicious surprises, while having great conversations with wonderful group of people. It's a private dinning experience with strangers in the best way possible. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to take off early under circumstance. I'll try to prevent this happen next time.

I decided I'm going to make Chicken Bastila, a traditional Moroccan dish usually prepared for holidays and weddings. It’s a sweet-savory pie made from layers stuffed with spice-infused chicken, cinnamon-scented almonds, and soft scrambled eggs.

Heather, I have tried bastille in Morocco. Can't want to try yours tomorrow.

Oh now that's pressure Yichum:-) ..not sure mine can be as good as a native dish in country. But I'll try!

I'll bring some gourmet salad with seafood.

Sounds like a great time... It's comedy night or I'd be there. Have a great one!

Ok, I will bring something very green, since that hasn't been represented yet, most likely involving good feta as inspired by Heather's Bastila (OMG, that's one of my favorite dishes ever!)

Heather, that makes me salivate! Looking forward.

I will be making sausage and cheese mini-pizzas with my homemade marinara sauce. I will also cook some rice to go with Tony's dum-ka-muragh dish.

Should we post what type of dish we're bringing, so there's a balance of salads / entrees / aps / desserts?

    2 · March 24, 2014

    • Mitch

Yes, thanks for reminding me, please post what you are bringing. It will be good to see you again Eileen...long time.

      March 24, 2014

I think Eileen's question is very relevant! I'm bringing dum-ka-muragh, a mildly spiced, slow-cooked dish of chicken-on-the-bone that is great with bread, pita, rice or naan. Chicken Tikka Masala is NOT Indian, it's British. This is authentic Indian - Awadhi - actually. It takes ages to cook, but for foodies, I'll walk 500 miles!
