Nancy Silverton in Conversation with Evan Kleiman

Hey all you Pizzeria Mozza fans, KCRW's Evan Kleiman is hosting Nancy Silverton's book signing of The Mozza Cookbook at The Skirball Center on October 5th.

The lecture starts at 8:00PM and the tickets to attend are free. Get your tickets and details about the book signing through The Skirball Cultural Center at: http://www.skirball.o...

Parking is free, but I would allow plenty of time to arrive to find your parking space and to check in at Will Call.

Enjoyed the discussion (ok, the mutual admiration society was a bit thick but that's OK) and a brief chat with them afterwards while getting my book signed. A lot of signings just whisk you through.

Hope everyone has a good time at the booksigning. I'm stuck here at work. I'll most likely set up a dinner at Mozza since Alex made the suggestion. The food is amazing.

I don't know why my comments from iphone keep getting cut (except for the first word) but here I go from a work computer. @Andree & any others interested: depending on what's served at the event, I might be up for some light fare afterwards as I'm coming straight from work.

Hi Joan, I'm new to the group and have not met anyone yet. I probably will not make it by 7 as I get off work at 6 and it sometimes takes an hour to get on the 405. My picture is very current. I should just look for a big group of you and you especially?

Just wanted to let everyone know that SuNny will not be able to attend this evening and has asked me to manage the event for her. I think I've met most of you. Although my picture is old, it still looks like me. I'll try to arrive at the Skirball by 7:00. Based on my experience with a lecture/signing by Mark Bittman, there will be some food to sample.

Arrive at Skirball between 7:15 - 7:30PM, which is more than enough time to check-in and meet with whoever wants to sit with me and the rest of LA Foodies. We will also meet after the lecture where the book signing will be held too.

I have an appt. this afternoon, so I may not be able to attend, dang it. I know you guys will have a good time at this event. Sometimes afterwards, they have a no host bar and free appetizers.

I'll see you there @ 7:30 Sunny. I perused the book @ B&N the other day and it seems quite complete. Purchased it through Amazon yesterday so it better get here! A note to all--don't be late because they will start giving your tickets to those waiting in line by 7:45, 7:50. They usually have food and drink available for sale in the waiting area.

Second that - can we meet at 7:30 in the wine and cocktail area to chat before the event? Also, is there interest in coffee and dessert afterward?

They MAY have books, but I wouldn't guarantee it. I was fortunate to have Susan Feiniger introduce me to Nancy who was sitting at the table next to me at Street, so I had a nice chat with Nancy... and Susan too. Awesome ladies...

Are we meeting before 8? Also, do they have books, or do I need to do a quick run for one? Did you see Mozza's got a cool thing for Food Fest? Convo w Nancy and yummy food!

They have a wine and cocktail area they usually open before they let people into the auditorium and we usually begin to gather there.

Usually it's fine to bring your book from home, especially at a non-book store like Skirball...

Are we planning to meet anywhere beforehand so maybe we could sit together?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
