There will be plenty to see and do. I am definately looking forward to watching some of the performers on the main stage !

Depending who's performing on stage and when, we will go into the Chinese American Museum.
I spoke to them on the phone and they said they would have many docents available to talk about the museum exhibits.

Both the festival and museum are Free for the day !

***If your plans change, and you decide you can not join us after all, please be polite and come back and change your rsvp at least 24 hours before.
Otherwise, we will be looking for you at the Festival.
Also, no "Shows-ups" without an RSVP - we will be looking for eachother, so the meetup group can enjoy the festival together. And I want to know that
you are joining us.

If you want to join us at the Phoenix Chinese for lunch before the festival, please RSVP here:
The restaurant is a separate RSVP meetup page from the festival, because I am making reservations.
You don't have to go to the restaurant with us, you can just meetup for the free festival and museum if you prefer.

The Museum is across from Union Station.
I plan to park my car near Union Station.

The festival was smaller than I thought it would be, but the docents at the museum were helpful and knowledgeable. The shadow puppet show and musicians were really worth seeing. An easy walk over from Chinatown on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Thanks to Donna for finding this little festival!

After the lunch we walked through Olvera Street, and headed over to the Chinese Musuem, which is small, but it was very interesting - including a display about Chinese Architects in L.A. Then we headed over to the main stage to watch the different dances, martial arts performances, and Lion Dances. It was a fun family festival with lots of kids in attendance. Those who stayed late got to see the outstanding Shadow puppets and Silver Dragon.
We hung out in front of the Chinese American Museum until around 4:20 waiting for late comers, so I hope we did not miss anyone. Thanks to those who called me on my cell phone so we could connect. I am glad we found eachother and we got to enjoy the stage peformances together. I had a really fun day experiencing Chinese culture and art with everyone.
