Sorry for the change of date but due to conflict we will be having event on 4/13 instead! Please take note of it

The weather is getting better and time to get into the water and for those newbies, this is a great opportunity to kayak in the safe waters of Kailua Bay and kayak to the Mokes with joint efforts of ATO, Hua Iki Paddling Club and Oahu Hikers and Adventurers.

Bob and Terry will be showing you the Island on the left where we can land. There's a Queen's Bath area that you can swim in and able to walk around the island on the left.

Stay close and have fun!

We will have a huge post kayaking trip with a big BBQ Potluck and a Celebration of Life - a special shout out to Terry, a long time supporter of ATO, Hua Iki and Oahu Hikers!

It will be a potluck so please bring something to share, BYOB. ATO will provide grill and supplies (plates, silverware, utensils etc)!

Hope you all can join us and spend a day at the beach with us!

Contact Bob at Twogood Kayaks and mention ATO and Kayaking the Mokes on April 6th and we will give us the Hui Iki discount.

John Garrity, Maki, & I are bringing 10 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken with secret seasonings for the grill & 2 x 2 liters of Coke Zero. I'm also bringing the grill, a propane tank, tongs, a knife, cutting board, serving pans, chairs, coolers of ice, plates, cups, forks, chopsticks, paper towels, & shot cups! I'm also picking up 4 people for the BBQ so no room in my car for anyone else. Since we are not kayaking, we will be arriving around 10:15. You may text me for about our exact set-up location, after 10:30. aloha, john[masked]

For those using their own kayaks, we will meet at 7:30 on the beach where the stream enters the ocean (middle of the park across from Buzzes) - rain or shine.

Those planning to kayak to the Mokes should plan to shove off from the beach where Kaelepulu stream enters the ocean at Kailua Beach Park at 7:30 am (I don't know who picked this early time! But it will give us calmer seas and lighter winds and more time to explore the island. If it is too early for you, just come later and follow us over. You can't miss the island. It's the big one on the left directly out from Lanakai.
