How to live on what we forage

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Unless you have food stored, learning to forage edible plants would be key to short-term survival in a disaster scenario. It can't hurt to be prepared. I would like to learn how to live off of what plants grow in the wild. Edible mushrooms, berries, leaves, flowers, honey, and even bark (but not insects for now, thanks) would be fair game. But which are edible? Inquiring minds want to know. Ideally it would end with "OK, this is what you found for lunch!" Do we have any experts amongst our ranks?

Hi, been looking for a group/organization to learn about foraging edible plants, work goofy hours, but hope I can learn and participate with others seeking this information. Looking forward to what comes in the way of lectures or field work.

Hey folks - just joined the group and wanted to say 'hi.' Not sure how long this particular meetup has gone without a date, but it would be great to do something soon! I understand mushrooms may be in season and things are getting pretty green around here, so perhaps there are some other tasty treats we can go harvest. I have no knowledge about local NorCal edibles so I'm eager to learn!
