Herring Run for spring forage

I need help on this one. I've heard of and been around Herring Run, but don't know of a good launch spot for us to start. Can someone pipe up with a location and/or address?

Spring is setting up shop with flowers and new foliage popping up all over the place. We are sure to find some good forage in this city location. I thank those that braved the walk at Holt Park. I expect to find some new things at Herring run. There will always be repeated plants and information. I hope there will always be a few new ones too. After we decide on a starting point I'll run on down there and scout the area. I will make a plant list and post it here so everyone can do some prereading.

Kind regards,
Eric

I don't think I have much clout, since I've never actually shown up to a meetup, but I WOULD like to come to this one, with the intention of LEARNING only, not eating! You'll see what I mean when you get there.

We should definitely not be foraging near the stream, since the sewage overflows regularly. So no Japanese Knotweed on this one, since it grows next to Herring Run there. Schedule a trip to the Gunpowder trail off Belair Rd, Sweathouse branch trail for Japanese Knotweed. :)

Thanks very much! Essence, come late if you want. We'll probably still be looking around. Email or call to check.

I live right in the neighborhood too and can second Essence's idea. Enter the park by the sign just below Argonne Drive on Harford Rd. Go all the way down the hill. There's plenty of parking down at the bottom and we can gather up there. Or maybe by the Park building that's right there. (It as a nice mural on it, can't miss it.) But the area is pretty open so it won't be hard to see where a group is gathering. Other people go down there to bike, walk, play basketball and in the playground so on a nice afternoon it will probably be well populated.

also I was there last week for a stream clean up... it was a bit hairy.. we may want to forage away from the stream

this is my hood! thanks for choosing. I will be coming from DC , so may not make it in time. The best place to meet is probably the main entrance Harford Rd. and Argonne Drive. There is a sign for the park on Harford Rd, its just below Lauraville.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
