Bill Howenstine, co-proprietor of Pioneer Tree Farm, will teach the basics of deciduous tree identification and then send us out to the woods to practice our new skills.
Developing skill with using basic botanical identification methods applies to trees and so much more! You are guaranteed to leave with more confidence in being able to identify both trees and plants on your own and in being successful when using plant identification guides.
Bill and Alice Howenstine are the owners of Pioneer Tree Farm, an organic cut your own holiday tree farm. The Howenstines have worked since 1978 to establish their own tree arboretum and now have over 40 kinds of trees living on their gorgeous farm.
Please dress appropriately for outdoor activities and bring your own water bottle with you. Consider sunscreen and bug repellant if you use them.
Please bring some food or drink to share with the group at the end of the meeting if you are so inclined (not mandatory). We'll provide paper plates, napkins, cups, and forks.
