For 10 years plus, I was a Mother Earther. Lived on 56 acres in southern Indiana. We raised almost all the food we consumed except for bread and milk. Goats proved impossible to keep confined and the bread was just too time consuming.
Since this was my first Meet Up with this group, I will with hold my evaluation. But, if all their Meet Ups are this good, I will attend more often. Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of the Meet Ups are on a Sunday which usually causes a major conflict in my schedule.
Roughly following our group guidelines I would ask you to help organize and recruit others to help you and attend your own meeting in Grayslake. Book selection can be as diverse as you like but you might pay attention to the core group and where we are headed. Smaller groups within the group can read other choices. There are so many good books to read. My longer term goal would have us summarize each book and its primary points. I hope you are willing to hel achieve this. Thanks
Merry Meet, Gene. Welcome to our group.
Hi Gene, welcome to the group. Permaculture is more than just gardening, it's how we put all those "green" things together and live our lives...
"Just go out for a breath of air... and you'll be ready for Medi- care..." Big Tom Leherer fan, right here.
Impressive resume there, Gene! I look forward to seeing you this Thursday night! It's nice to have folks with a wide range of sustainable experience. Oh... and the solar panel/wind turbine thing... yeah... we got ya covered.
