Sea Turtle Awareness Dive

July 21, 2013 …Participate and Learn with the Palm Beach Zoo's Florida Hawksbill Project.

Spend the day learning and diving with Nikole Ordway and Larry Wood as he captures and studies the Florida Hawksbill Turtle. Learn what the Hawksbill contributes to our knowledge about the ecosystem of our local reefs. Understand where they come from and where they are going and how far they range.

Join us at the Riviera Beach Force-E 155 East Blue Heron Blvd. at 10:00 AM. We’ll break for lunch about noon and be at the boat in the Lake Park Marina by 1:00 PM for a two-tank dive with Larry Wood for some practical experience.

Call now to make reservations. [masked] Direct or[masked] Toll Free. Replies to Meet Up are NOT a reservation to this event, you must call the store to book your spot.

The cost of the event is $100 and the proceeds will be donated to the Florida Hawksbill Project. The price includes Turtle Awareness class session, boat trip, and snacks on the boat.

This two tank dive and academic program will allow participants to watch the Florida Hawksbill Project in action. We will have activities for each person underwater. If you have an underwater camera, make sure to bring it for some of the activities we have planned. No camera, no worries, bring an underwater dive slate for interactive activities. Nikole will be taking pics and vids and make them available to everyone at no cost.

The Palm Beach Zoo's Florida Hawksbill Project, established in 2004, represents the first systematic study of the hawksbills of Florida, and is designed to contribute significantly to our understanding and conservation of this remarkable species. Great dives, great people (what scuba person isn't?), and all around great time.....

Is anyone available for a dive on Saturday before the event? I need to do a dive before the event to get comfortable with my gear, and need a dive buddy. Either at the bridge, or I have a boat to go to some near shore reefs.

Would love to but unfortunately we aren't getting in until Saturday. We don't live in town.

I am interested in reserving a spot for the 2 tank dive and would like to dive NITROX. Can you advise the dive profile for these dives? Will the dives be launched from ariveria Beach or West Palm Beach? Thanks!
